What's up friends?
Today has been a fun filled day at sea. We pretty much had something to do almost every minute of today. We woke up around 8 am, looked out the window and we could literally see Cuba from our window. We couldn't see it very well but it was really neat to see! As the day went on, we could see it a little more clearly but we were still pretty far away. We hugged the coast until about 6:00 pm.
Early this morning, we went to this really cool informational session about the shore excursions, entertainment on the ship, and general fun stuff about the ship. We had no idea that there were so many exciting events on the ship! We learned about the plays, comedy club, and games that will take place. We went to two shows tonight. I will tell you more about those later!
Next, I went to a shopping meeting. I got a map and learned about all the great places to shop. I am most excited about visiting Viva Mexico where everything in the store is made in Mexico! What an authentic souvenir! I am also collecting charms from the diamonds international store and I've got my maps ready for those as well.
This afternoon, we went to "match game" trivia. During this game, our host picked a random person from the audience to ask weird questions. We had to match his answers. For example, one question was "when I get up and look in the fridge, I am looking for..." and another was "the first thing I do in the morning is..." For those who are curious, he looks for ketchup and he opens his eyes. Yes, you heard me right! I got 4 answers out of 20 right. Ricky got 3. Ha! The winner guessed 9 correctly. Wow!! And no, it wasn't his wife!
It was also elegant night on our cruise ship. In case you've never been on a cruise, they usually have one or two elegant nights each cruise. It isn't required, but really, why would you not want to dress up and be glamorous for one night? We got all dressed up and took about 200 pictures before dinner.
It's worth the wait sometimes for the food because like I said yesterday, it's four star dining. It's absolutely delicious. We both had a steak and mashed potatoes. All I can say is OMG. Those were possibly the best potatoes I've ever had.
In the dining room, the hostess sat us right on top of a Southern couple. We spotted that accent right away! They were also from Georgia (I'm noticing a pattern!). We talked for hours and enjoyed our dinner.
After dinner, we did something amazing! One of my favorite things EVER to do on the cruise ship is to check out the entertainment on board. Tonight, we saw two plays. Heck yes! Ricky went with me to see not one, but two plays today! Oh and did I mention, not only were they plays, they were MUSICALS. That's right my friends! We saw two musicals tonight. Talk about having a full cup. I was a happy camper!
The first play was called Motor City. It was full of Motown Music. These performers were amazing! They are so talented. After the play, something wonderful happened. We were led out into the lobby and a random dance party broke out. We all (well me and about 300 folks, NOT Ricky!) did the throw your hands up and shout dance. Craig, our cruise director that we met earlier at the informational session, came out wearing a black afro and boogin' to the music. Then, one of the male performers jumped in the elevators and went up and down, up and down, up and down, singing and dancing. He even stood up on the railing. It was epic! We also did the cupid shuffle and the electric slide. I had a great time!
After we gave a standing ovation, :) we dashed (literally because we only had about 10 minutes to get there!) over to the Ebony Cabaret which is a smaller performance room. We were ready to see a comedy show! We saw a comedian named Claude Stuart.
Y'all, take just a minute to discuss his hair. I feel it's okay to talk about this because even he made fun of his hair in his skit. Have you ever seen There's Something About Mary? You know the part where the lovely Cameron Diaz uses a "hair product" that makes her hair stand straight up? I'm pretty sure he used the movie as a tutorial. Maybe not the exact same hair product, but definitely the style! It was about chin length but it was literally all combed back and stiffly standing straight backwards. He was so funny with his socially awkwardness. There was a group of Middle Eastern guys in the audience and he had a great time poking fun at them. He said they must have gotten lost on the way to another club because they were sitting with their arms folded in protest. After the show, I saw these gentlemen taking a picture with him so it was all in good fun.
He also made fun of us Southern folks. He said he got pulled over once and the Southern policeman called him "Clawday Stewwwert." He proceeded to make fun of how we pronounce pretty much everything and how we say "bless your heart." All I can say is 1. Haha and 2. Bless his heart! :) :) :)
Hasta la Vista!

Apparently not as many people participate in the elegant pictures as the last cruise we were on. Last time, we waited at least 10 minutes per background (probably an hour and a half) and over half an hour waiting for dinner.
Tonight, we spent maybe 20 minutes taking all our pictures and less than five minutes waiting for dinner. Unbelievable! I will say though that the last time we cruised, dinner in the dining room was very fast. This cruise, we are spending between an hour and two hours in the dining room.

Can you spot me in this picture doing my thaaaang? :)
After our dance party, we headed back to stateroom to rest up and change. About half an hour later, we were back on the go! This time, we went back to The Amber Palace to see another show. I was shocked to see that the same performers were in this show! Seriously, that is a ton of songs to memorize. This time the show was called Epic Rock. Obviously, this was more Ricky's speed and he enjoyed it very much. I loved it too. My favorite songs they performed were Dream On and Paradise City.

Finally, I forgot to tell you yesterday, but every night Ni Wayan leaves us a towel animal, chocolate, and tomorrow's schedule. She also turns down our bed at night. Can you say spoiled? I can't describe how wonderful it is to be pampered!! We've gotten a towel dog and tonight we got a bear. I can't wait to see what else she creates for us!
Tomorrow, we are looking forward to arriving bright and early in Cozumel, Mexico. It's going to be an awesome day and I will be checking an item off my bucket list! Yes!!!!!! I'll tell you more about that tomorrow!
Hasta la Vista!
